Dr GrewalPrabh Grewal, D.D.S.

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

A native of Northern California, Dr. Grewal completed his undergraduate studies at University of California San Diego before earning his Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree at the University of Pacific School of Dentistry in San Francisco. After completing dental school on the coveted United States Army Health Professionals Scholarship, Dr. Grewal entered active duty service in the U.S. Army and served in Germany as a dentist prior to starting his residency program. Dr. Grewal completed the Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery residency at the San Antonio Military Medical Center, a joint Air Force/Army hospital and the only level I trauma center in the Department of Defense. In addition to succeeding in the multiple rigorous medicine, surgical, and anesthesia rotations during his training, he had the opportunity to serve as the Chief Resident at Memorial Hermann Hospital at the Texas Medical Center in Houston, the busiest trauma center and largest medical campus in the United States. His training represented the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery, involving cosmetic, head/neck pathology and reconstruction, dentoalveolar, facial trauma, orthognathic, and temporomandibular joint (TMJ) surgeries. After finishing residency, Dr. Grewal successfully completed the exhaustive 19 month examination process to become board certified and now holds Diplomate status in the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.

During his time in the service, Dr. Grewal deployed to Bagram, Afghanistan where he was able to perform numerous facial trauma surgeries in conjunction with plastic surgery and ENT surgery colleagues. Achieving the rank of Lieutenant Colonel (LTC), he served as the Chief of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery of Kimbrough Army Care Center, at Ft Meade, Maryland. Among his numerous professional achievements, Dr. Grewal reaped the greatest reward and satisfaction during his time as faculty and attending surgeon at the storied Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, also known colloquially as the President's Hospital and the flagship hospital of military medicine. During his time on faculty, he helped train 16 resident surgeons who have and will serve in the U.S. Armed Forces.

 

KhourySam F. Khoury, D.M.D.

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

Dr. Sam F. Khoury was born and raised in San Francisco. He graduated from Santa Clara University in 1999 and pursued a career in research. His interest in finding new therapeutics led him to consider a career in the healthcare field. In 2001, he attended the University of Pittsburgh and graduated in 2005. Dr. Khoury graduated in the top 5% of his class and was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the national dental honor society. In addition to his scholastic achievements, he obtained numerous research grants from the National Institute of Health (NIH).

In 2005, Dr. Khoury returned to Northern California to complete a four-year residency in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at Highland General Hospital/Alameda County Medical Center. During his residency, he also trained at Kaiser Permanente Oakland Medical Center, Children's Hospital Oakland, and University of the Pacific in San Francisco.

Dr. Khoury has published several scientific articles which have won national awards. He also teaches at the University of the Pacific and is an attending surgeon at Highland General Hospital in Oakland, where he trains residents. In addition, he is a member of the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons and the California Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons.

His practice interests encompass a full-scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery, with a focus on dentoalveolar surgery, implants, pathology, and orthognathic surgery.

Outside of his practice, Dr. Khoury enjoys spending time with his family, hiking, and biking.
