Sam F. Khoury, D.M.D.
Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
Dr. Sam F. Khoury was born and raised in San Francisco. He graduated from Santa Clara University in 1999 and pursued a career in research. His interest in finding new therapeutics led him to consider a career in the healthcare field. In 2001, he attended the University of Pittsburgh and graduated in 2005. Dr. Khoury graduated in the top 5% of his class and was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the national dental honor society. In addition to his scholastic achievements, he obtained numerous research grants from the National Institute of Health (NIH).
In 2005, Dr. Khoury returned to Northern California to complete a four-year residency in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at Highland General Hospital/Alameda County Medical Center. During his residency, he also trained at Kaiser Permanente Oakland Medical Center, Children’s Hospital Oakland, and University of the Pacific in San Francisco.
Dr. Khoury has published several scientific articles which have won national awards. He also teaches at the University of the Pacific and is an attending surgeon at Highland General Hospital in Oakland, where he trains residents. In addition, he is a member of the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons and the California Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons.
His practice interests encompass a full-scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery, with a focus on dentoalveolar surgery, implants, pathology, and orthognathic surgery.
Outside of his practice, Dr. Khoury enjoys spending time with his family, hiking, and biking.
